  2.     "The PRO-2006 possesses latent capability to tune the frequencies
  3.     "wired out" at the factory.  To regain continuous coverage from
  4.     760 MHz through 1300 MHz, all you have to do is unplug the set from
  5.     the powerline, then:
  6.  
  7.     1. Remove the plasic top cover from the radio.
  8.     2. Look behind the numeral "3" key, inside the front panel, and you
  9.        will see two diodes and blank spots for two more.  Locate D-502;
  10.        the lower of the two visible diodes.
  11.     3. Snip the exposed, upper leg of D-502; push the two cut ends
  12.        slightly apart.
  13.     4. Button the case back up and be content with the continuous
  14.        frequency coverage of 25 MHx-520 MHz and 760 MHz-1300 MHz.

  16.     Next, press the STEP key three times while in any SEARCH mode,
  17.     you will see, successively on the LCD Display, the step or increment
  18.     indications of "5" kHz," "12.5 kHz" and then "50 kHz."  Press the
  19.     STEP key a dozen times or a hundred, and only the above three
  20.     increments will be displayed.

  22.     Now , if you have restored the full frequecy capabilites in your
  23.     PRO-2004, 2005, or 2006, and first press the RESET key, then just
  24.     as soon as a SEARCH enters the frequency ranges of 825-845 MHz
  25.     and/or 870-890 MHz, you will see a 4th increment displayed:
  26.     "30 kHz"! It's OK! This is appropriate for the spacing in those
  27.     bands.

  29.     However, keep in mind:

  31.     1.  It is illegal to listen to cellular telephone conversations.
  32.     2.  Modifying your PRO-2006 will invalidate the manufacturer's
  33.         warranty.
  34.     3.  If you blow up your scanner, no one will sympathize will (sic)
  35.         you.
